Volunteer
Volunteers play a valuable role in transforming the lives of our members. As little as one hour per week can have a positive impact on a child’s life. Every Club offers volunteer opportunities for adults to work directly with youth as mentors and tutors, and by providing career guidance, internships and college preparation support. We also welcome corporations seeking one-day, project-based volunteer opportunities.
Because we understand the importance of stable relationships with adult role models, we also recommend a minimum commitment of one hour per week for 12 weeks.
We are proud of our excellent reputation as a safe haven for youth, and we take our responsibility to our kids very seriously. Boys & Girls Clubs of America is a national leader in adopting significant and proactive child protection guidelines and processes. Therefore, all volunteers must undergo a thorough screening process that includes:
- Volunteer Application
- Background check
- One hour volunteer orientation
- Sex Offender Registry Information (SORI)
Our commitment to youth is made possible by support from people of good will like yourself. If you would like to make a difference in the lives of our youth, you can do so by volunteering your time as a mentor and role model. As you scroll through the various programs and departments of our Club, please remember that we have a constant need for volunteers in all areas of Club operation. Whether your interest is in athletics, technology, the arts or any other programming skills, we have a role for you to play in our mission. You can be somebody to somebody!
