Who We Are

Boys & Girls Clubs are a safe place to learn and grow -- all while having fun. It's the place where great futures are started each and every day.

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area (BGCAA) is a youth development 501 (c)(3) non-profit, locally governed agency devoted to providing hope and opportunity to all kids, especially those who need us most, between the ages of 6 and 18. The Clubs are dedicated to providing kids with:

  • A safe, positive place to learn and grow
  • Ongoing relationships with trained, professional staff
  • Life-enhancing programs
  • Hope and opportunity

Through our programs and services, our kids find their individual competencies, and develop relationships with positive role models. Ultimately, our goal is to help each of our kids develop a sense of competency, a sense of belonging, a sense of usefulness, and a sense of influence.

BGCAA helps almost 10,000 kids a year and nearly 1,500 per day grow into healthy, responsible, caring young adults.

Who We Serve

With a high concentration of children of color from limited economic resources, BGCAA is ideally positioned to assist youth in improving their educational and social skills, physical health and fitness and emotional well-being.  We strive to create a foundation for a positive peer culture who value learning skills and contribute to society.  Our programs are compelling enough to appeal to kids as an alternative to unsupervised, “hanging out” time after school.
